The custom content management system was expanded to manage articles in different categories, photos and audio interviews. The second version was built with the Ruby on Rails application framework which allowed for a fast pace of development. The new version of the site was live after only 30 days of development time and bug fixes and code updates continue.
The flexibility of the system allowed for the addition of a Flash based Scores Ticker at the top of all of the pages that shows the latest scores from the scoreboard. The on-air staff still has a simple two step process to update the scores across the site while they are also running the radio show.
The Ruby on Rails application framework was used to expand the capabilities of the custom content management system used by the on-air personalities to update the website. A running beta was completed after 30 days of development time, with agile development techniques resulting in constant code updates.
A custom Flash based scores ticker was designed to be updated with XML from the Rails framework. The ticker shows upcoming schedules and live scores during the show and is automatically updated requiring no extra effort from the staff.
